We are partnered with a full-service marketing agency, based in Surrey. They help businesses of all sizes with their digital presence online. From web design to social media, SEO, and more. They operate on a hybrid basis but are also happy for relevant candidates to be predominately remote, after an initial period of training.


The Role;


The Business Development Manager is responsible for the sale of digital marketing services to prospective clients. The role is primarily telephone-based and is focused on the conversion of sales leads into committed, enthusiastic clients.


The Business Development Manager must be knowledgeable about the full range of digital services and be able to translate what the company provides into compelling benefits for prospects.


The primary elements of the role are to respond rapidly to new leads, understand the prospect’s business requirements, provide the client with all relevant details of the company’s services, fully explain how the company’s services may help the prospects’ business, set realistic expectations on likely outcomes and secure commitment and payment before service can commence.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

· Achieve or exceed all sales and commercial targets for the role

· Ensure every lead gets an appropriate follow-up within the company’s target response times.

· Establish with each prospect their business requirements and manage expectations on what can be achieved by using their range of services.

· Ensure the fees quoted fully reflect the value of the services being offered and ensure that the service package is specified clearly to avoid any ambiguity or misunderstandings

· Free services or discounts are not to be offered unless within pre-agreed company guidelines or authorised as an individual case

· Ensure that knowledge of the company’s services, how they are deployed and the value to clients is up to date. This will include personal development through training, coaching and self-learning.

· Build into every conversation and communication a high level of professionalism to convey the values and identity.

· Build strong working relationships with other teams across the company, understand what part they play in delivering services and be clear about what can and cannot be delivered to clients. Identify and recommend additional services and features that the company might offer to help its clients achieve their business objectives

· Take responsibility for your own professional development by investing time in learning additional skills, seeking new experiences, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and changes, and improving client relationship skills.

· Understand and apply business processes and systems for the role and take an active interest in identifying improvements.

· Work collaboratively across the business to encourage a positive, supportive environment where each team member helps others with learning and feedback

· Undertake other activities and tasks within the sales function and across the company as may be required from time to time to promote the interests of the business, its clients, and team members


OBJECTIVES

· To achieve the sales targets as agreed from time to time (the sales targets and commission plan will be contained in a separate document)

· To maintain average fees at target levels across your new sales activities

· To ensure that services are quoted and charged at the agreed rate

· To meet the personal development targets agreed in your personal development plan


Your experience and competencies;


· Prospect/client focussed and confident in communicating by email, telephone, and in-person

· Target focussed with high energy to achieve personal and company goals

· A strong team player who will instinctively help others achieve their goals

· Commercial and business awareness both in terms of understanding client requirements and in building value.

· Strong quality and service ethic with a strong desire to add value for clients

· Ability to think, act and communicate clearly under pressure, including in instances where a prospect is demanding answers

· Ability and strength of character to recognise when a sales should not be progressed – either for the prospects or the company’s benefit

· SEO or more broadly digital marketing experience would be desirable
